BFBS LC have been closely involved in the definition of the OSIS standard for encoding ancient texts. This W3C standard utilises the power of XML structures to store text. Text stored in OSIS format can be more easily typeset using XSLT transformations to convert it to propriety typesetting formats or even directly to post script or PDF.
